Such a simple little dessert, but it seems like it should be more difficult.  If you can scoop gelato or ice cream and make some espresso then you are good to go.

Put a scoop of the vanilla (or whatever flavor you want) into a bowl and top with espresso.  Yup, that’s it.


I crushed a couple amaretti cookies to sprinkle on top for a little crunch and extra flavor.  Also, you would put this in a martini glass or some other fancy vessel to make it even more elegant.

  1. Before lactose-intolerance hit, I used to LOVE getting these at a coffee shop on Broadway, back in the 80s-90s. Now, whenever I’m with my boss, it’s what he always orders, they are delicious.
